Squeaky Wheel's 22nd Annual Animation Fest
A short film about a dog caught in a rain storm. Each background is drawn with charcoal, which I then erased, redrew, then photographed the changes over 600 times. When the photographs are viewed in rapid succession, the animation is created. I started animating this story without knowing how it would end, and instead made it up as I went along. Because there is also no going back with this type of animation, I had to fully commit to every change and yet the charcoal started to tell its own story during the process.
